Now more than ever, SAMA™ can make a difference for manufacturers. The investment in membership dues delivers value through advocacy, workforce development, and networking. The Association’s activities include:
Representation – Monitor the activities of the San Antonio City Council, San Antonio Water System, CPS Energy and their staffs, plus other regulatory agencies, such as the Texas Commission On Environmental Quality, for changes in ordinances, regulations and utility rates.
Educational Opportunities – Workshops, seminars, plant tours, luncheons, plant operations special interest group meetings, and certification programs provide an opportunity to expand technical expertise and share best practices.
Issue Awareness – Reviews various media sources to keep members advised of rules and regulations that affect industry.
Networking – Monthly luncheons, quarterly evening mixers, annual trade show and conference, bowling and golf tournaments are designed to foster the networking of our membership.
Committees – There are two categories; “action” which include the education, energy, environmental, marketing & communications, membership and programs. The second is “events” which include CEO event, golf and trade show.
Referrals for Products and Services – SAMA assists members and the general public in locating a product, service or a manufacturing process by emailing manufacturing requests to its members.
Membership shall be composed of manufacturers, “Manufacturer Member”, as well as those who provide a product or service for manufacturing “Associate Member”.
Manufacturer and Associate Memberships
Membership in SAMA are as a whole company; by joining you, your company and ALL employees are members of the association, thus membership dues are based on local Full and Part Time permanent employees. Temporary employees, who work seasonally for a company and not hired on a permanent basis, will not be considered in the assessment of dues. Applications are subject to approval by the Board of Directors.
